I'm beginning to think that maybe it is best that I use removable trays for HD's & just switch out drives to multiboot maintaining the MB as the primary IDE. That way if the siig changes the disk order it won't matter....At least for now until I figure it out. With BMagic if it senses that the HD is no longer Disk1

Multi-boot enabled since Win2K was installed later. What I want: - Install a localized Win98 (same setup process anyway...) in lieu of the old one. - Remain multi-boot without re-installing Win2K (Win98 tries to become *THE* OS!!) Some versions of W98 are smart enough to recognize multi-boot.

One disk has win98 on FAT 16, the other win2000 on NTFS Now I want to mount them both on an IDE cable, one as master, one as slave, and multiboot from them. I read, that I could do that by using the FAT16 primary boot disk and the NTFS as secondary. But how do I get them to multiboot ?

I would like to haver Multi OS boot with the 3 OS I already havr and linux added There are many different ways to do this, and many of the details will depend upon precisely how those three OSs are installed right now. I would also put both win98 and win2k's virtual memery on hda's 2gb partition(1gb for each) - I would like to write hda's MBR for multi-boot The FreeBSD boot selector will serve your purpose here as long as you have everything on primary, not logical, partitions. Now my question is - is it possible?

I've heard of people that say they've had good experiences with multi-boot, but I've never seen any for myself.
