How to Multi Boot/dual boot
I'm using Win98fe on one partition of my boot drive, and have 2 partitions empty and useless. Thus, I'm thinking of putting Win2k(fe) on one of these partitions. So did I on _many_ multi-boot machines, but it can be really picky about what it will boot. It often won't show perfectly good *nix partitions as bootable. After this, the computer will boot directly into WinME, with no dual boot menu. Then, boot from your WinXP CD-ROM and run the Repair option from Setup only to inspect the startup environment. This will restore the multi-boot setup, including re-writing boot.ini. By the way, this line in your boot.ini:

The boot partition can be, but does not have to be, the same as the system partition. WinXP/2000/Me multi-boot. Can't get Me
Is it possible to do a multi-boot system with XP Pro (currently on the computer) and Windows Server 2003? I've done multi-boot systems before, but usually with a partitioned hard-drive or multiple hard-drives. Here at work, we also have a multi-boot system of Win 2000 Pro and Win 2000 Server...using the partition.

I really haven't understood how do the partitions work and how need they to be set to make a proper multi-boot. I have read somewhere that hard disks can have more than one primary DOS partition (perhaps 4?) and two extended partitions (with I don't know how many logical drives inside) or something like this.

I took a look at the boot.ini file and it seems to be the same as it was prior to trying to resize the partitions. How do I get 98 working again? I guess I could reinstall 98 over itself again and hope it get fixed, but what will that do with my 2k installation and the ability to multi-boot?
